THE PINTO KID has been retired from racing he is not a very big horse and having got up to a rating of 90 he was either having to race against better horses or carrying a lot of weight for a small horse. He did very well for the syndicate at the end of 2018 through 2019 winning four times.  He is leaving Pegasus at the end of November and heading to the British Thoroughbred Retraining Centre.  He lulls you in to a sense of false security as he has an angelic face and being not overly big you can’t imagine him doing anything but he can whip round on a sixpence and I have often seen him cantering up the canter minus a jockey!!  He will make someone a lovely riding horse though and he will be easy to love.

This yearling colt was bought at the October Arqana Yearling Sales.  He is a good looking, strong, compact and athletic colt by High Chaparral.  He is a charming colt and has settled in very well to life at Pegasus.

He is not overly big but a stocky powerful looking horse who has a large character.  Being by High Chaparral he was unlikely to be an early type but over the winter he has really blossomed and showing a lot of character and a certain amount of ability.  He looks as if he might need a couple of races before he realises what he is meant to do but I think if he goes on improving all the time he is going to be fun for the Bruce Syndicate.

He has now had three races finishing fifth in his final two and doing all his best work at the finish.  He will now go handicapping and looks as if he will make into a stayer.

Today THE PINTO KID won his fourth race off a rating of 86.  He has a tremendous turn of foot at the end of a race and loves to go through the field.  He is tough and has a great character
