THE TIN MAN Shines At Haydock

THE TIN MAN put a poor run behind him when running on to be second beaten half a length to Hello Youmzain in The Haydock Sprint on Saturday.  The Pegasus Stables gelding stood out in the parade ring beforehand and ran accordingly.  He ran poorly in the Hackwood Stakes at Newbury in July but was found to be very sore behind the saddle afterwards.  He has had a lot of physio since and a new lad looking after him and a new rider and was firing at home.  The last couple of weeks he has looked a very happy horse.

He loves a fast pace and being off the bridle for most of the race and then just when you think you are going to be nowhere he gets an extra gear and starts picking off the horses one by one unfortunately he was not able to pick off Hello Youmzain who looks a very nice sprinter.  When THE TIN MAN was having his first run in this race four years ago Hello Youmzain wasn’t even born. TTM has run in the race four times and been first, second twice and third which is not bad going.

All being well he will head off to The Qipco Champion Sprint which he will be contesting for a fifth time.
