Although he didn’t win this year we thought that THE TIN MAN ran some excellent races in 2020 and was little unlucky not to win.  His run in the Hackwood Stakes was a very good run and he looked all over the winner and was just done in the final strides. He had an awful draw as did ARCHER’S DREAM in stalls 1 and 2 in the Haydock Sprint and ran a terrific race to finish sixth.  All the major places were drawn high and we not only had a bad draw but the worst ground.  He then went to York to the re-routed Bengough Stakes where unfortunately he was too far off Dakota Golds but was flying at the finish but couldn’t quite get there.

His last run of the season in the Qipco Champion Sprint was disappointing but only a week after the Bengough Stakes.  I think he has now told us enough times he doesn’t like Ascot anymore and especially so when it is soft ground.  We definitely won’t be sending back again.  In fact having talked about it we are not going to run him in Gp1’s anymore and keep him to flat tracks.  When he tells us he doesn’t enjoy it anymore we will retire him and he can be a hack at Pegasus.
