PENPAL Made Many Friends At Kempton

Little PENPAL made a lot of people very happy when winning at Kempton on Tuesday 6th November.  She is not very big and there is not a lot of her but she is so gutsy and brave.  She wont run again this year and we hope she might fill out a bit over the winter.  She was bought at Goffs Orby Sale in 2018 from Miss O’Kellys Kilcarn Stud.  Miss O’Kelly was a prolific breeder of highly successful racehorses and had the Flame of Tara family where many a highly successful racehorse came from.  This filly is not from that family but I really like buying off hr stud but she is not consigning anymore under The Kilcar Stud banner so we did not buy anything from her in 2019.  She was delighted that we bought this filly off her but very disappointed with the rice she received which was 50,000 euros and I think Invincible Spirits nominations were 120,000 euros.

32Red/British Stallion Studs EBF Fillies’ Novice Stakes Nov 6th 2019

Her syndicate is called Fred Archer Racing – Jannette.  Jannette was a wonderful racehorse winning all seven of her races at two.  She was 2nd in the 1000 Guineas but went on to win the Oaks and the St Leger. That year she also won The Champion Stakes.  She didnt have quite the imapct as a four year old but still won the Jockey Club Cup.

ENVISAGING ran at Chelmsford the day after PENPAL at Kempton.  He looked as if he was going to win nicely but decided to let a couple of others finish in front of him.  Chelmsford would not be his ideal course as he really likes a straight course which obviously Chelmsford is not.  We will probably give him a holiday now as James cannot find any suitable races for him. He is really THE TIN MAN’S mate and we need him fresh and well for next season.
