No Wins but Two Good Runs from MASTER ARCHER & EXCELLED

MASTER ARCHER is a wonderful horse and although he has only won twice he very rarely runs a bad race.  That could be said of his run at Kempton last night (3.7.19) when he just got pipped for second place on the line.  He does need everything to fall into place for him and last night he was unable to go the early pace to ensure a handy position so he had to rather sit and suffer until he got a run once n the straight.  The winner won well and we wouldnt have beaten him but it would have been good to finish second.  We were happy with him and he will have a day when he gets his head in front very soon.  David Probert said we could go either 1m6f or 2m so we might come back in trip with him.

MASTER ARCHER

It was such a relief to see EXCELLED finishing her race as she has been a bit disappointing in her first two races this year.  She is a very good looking filly by Exceed and Excel who we really like but was getting a bit frustrated by her.  She can be quite strong which she wasnt last night and so we might try her over 7f as she certainly looked as if she would have been a lot closer if she had had another furlong.  She did everything right yesterday and the boys did a great job keeping her quiet before the race as she can be quite excitable but we could not fault her behaviour.  Her mother won two races after stepping up to 7f so we will try that route with her.

EXCELLED

The two of them were turned out this morning in what was a lovely warm sunny one.
