Catchup 10th June

We were thrilled with MASTER ARCHER’S run at Goodwood yesterday.  He was beaten a length and three quarters giving 12lbs to the winner and 14lbs to the third and 3lbs to the second all who loved soft ground.  He had another race and ran a blinder which indicates we should have a lot more fun with him this summer.  Everyone enjoys riding MASTER ARCHER including the jockeys.  Last year he had a pretty busy time running regularly throughout the year so he ha a nice holiday in the winter.  His first run back was at Newmarket where he was disappointing it was good to see he still enjoyed his racing yesterday. He probably enjoyed the ups and downs and the turns of Goodwood like he enjoys Chester.

ARCHERS DREAM has continued to do well since her two wins.  She got an entry in The Listed Cathedral Stakes at Salisbury on Sunday.  It looks a pretty hot race as it is  colts and all ages as well.  All being well she will run as long as the ground is reasonable.  She is out of a sister to Profitable and although not very big has a great heart and seems to love her racing.  She hasn’t had to come off the bridle yet so it will be interesting to see what happens when she has to knuckle down.  She is quite small but seems very fast.

We were planning to run SPANISH ARCHER at Haydock on Wednesday but having raced on Saturday and it having rained so much since we are not going to run him on heavy ground.  We have had him ready for a couple of weeks now but we do want to get conditions for his first race of the year right.  He will probably run at Chelmsford at their evening meeting on the 19th June now.  He looks great and we are looking forward to getting him back on track.

Everything is going to plan with THE TIN MAN for Royal Ascot.  The Leisure Stakes at Windsor brought him on a lot and he has done some nice work since.  Thank goodness we have been able to get on the grass which we didnt have the luxury of before Windsor.  We can judge his well being when we can get him on The Trial Ground on The Limekilns.  He is very lazy in his everyday canters but he knows what he has to do on The Limekilns.  He has his own lead horse in ENVISAGING who the partners bought specially to lead him in his faster work.  He is himself a lovely horse and does such a good job.  He loves Ascot and could run there with his eyes closed he has been there so many times.

THE PINTO KID is ready to run any time.  He has been swimming and loving it.  EXCELLED has not been showing us on the racecourse what we see at home so we will have to think where we are going wrong with her.  She looks pretty speedy at home.

SOCIETY PRINCE who seems to be the most accident prone going is hopefully back on track again!  He is a smashing little horse and he and his partners deserve a clear run.  He unfortunately got struck into on the heath and had t have nearly a year off and he has had a couple of little niggles but he is back trotting again.  LORD GEORGE is still on holiday in Kent.

Our three two year olds are coming along nicely.  TURN ON THE CHARM is a good looking Charm Spirit horse we like very much and who should be on the track in July.  PENPAL is quite a small Invincible Spirit filly from a nice family who looks pretty sharp and she should also be out in July.  TILLY FRANKL has the best pedigree of all being by Frankel out of Ribbons.  She is the most backward of the three and we will be taking our time with her like we did with her mother who came out for the first time in November.
