All the FRED ARCHER RACING horses are back in and back in full training. THE TIN MAN, THE PINTO KID and SOCIETY PRINCE all stayed here but didn’t canter for several months and went off for a trot everyday and look in good order. LORD GEORGE has been racing and had four races in December and January. Some good and some not so good which is typical for him. It was decided not to sell him at the February Sale as we felt he still had a good race in him and he has also done well for the partners over the years. The two year olds TURN ON THE CHARM, PENPAL & TILLY FRANKL were all kept going thoughout the winter. ENVISAGING, MASTER ARCHER, EXCELLED & ARCHER’S DREAM were all lucky enough to go to Kent for their holiday.
We haven’t had too many bad weather days and this certainly shows in the horses who have excellent coats and very fresh and well. We are very happy with the way they are at the moment. SOCIETY PRINCE is coming back from nearly a year off having been struck into on the gallops. It was very disappointing but he has had time to mature and strengthen up and looks great. He is just about to start cantering anytime now. Both the three year old fillies EXCELLED and ARCHER’S DREAM are looking stronger. ARCHER’S DREAM is the softer and sweeter character of the two and EXCELLED is not overly keen on being molly coddled. MASTER ARCHER has been enjoying himself leading some of the two year olds but he will be back with the older horses anytime now. SPANISH ARCHER looks great and seems more settled at home and is moving very well. TURN ON THE CHARM would be the most forward of the two year olds at this stage and he is a lovely looking horse who always catches the eye out. PENPAL is small but strong and looks as if she should have some races this year she tends to want to get on with things and not that keen on hanging about. TILLY FRANKL would be the best bred off them all being by Frankel out of Ribbons but she has been on the easy as she had a touch of ringworm so is not looking her best at the moment but is a lovely kind filly.
ENVISAGING and THE TIN MAN are back together again. In their everyday work they each lead one canter but when it comes to the faster work ENVISAGING will be leading and last year he did a very good job
. He will race but he was bought specifically as THE TIN MAN’S lead horse and that is his most important job. THE TIN MAN looks great and we just hope that he continues to enjoy his racing for another year. He looks the same as ever to us here but he has only just this week started cantering.
