Last Weeks Runners Update

Poor MAGICAL DREAMER had to run on the most desperate ground at Ayr on Friday when running in the Al Maktoum Cup Arran Scottish Fillies’ Sprint Stakes (Listed Race).  I heard some of the jockeys saying it was some of the wrost ground they had ridden on and others saying it was very very hard work and testing.  She finished a very gallant fourth and as always tried her hardest but was unable to quicken on the heavy ground.  The three fillies in front of her all had wining form on heavy ground and the winner had won at Haydock two weeks previously on heavy ground.  MAGICAL DREAMER had some form on soft ground and been placed on heavy but I think that was because she was so much better than anything else in the race rather than the love of the ground.  I wish all horses were like her as she always puts everything into her racing.  James has a couple more Listed races that he will enter her in but time is running out as she will be going to the December Sales at the beginning of December.

LORD GEORGE did not have a good time at Yarmouth.  He either likes rock hard ground or the all weather.  He is such a good looking horse and has loads of ability but things have not gone his way recently.  He had to have some strong anti biotics before his run in The Northumberland Plate and he doesn’t seem to have been the same since.  James will find him a race back on the All Weather next time.

Earlier in the week EXCELLED who won first time out Yarmouth was returning there but was carrying a 6lb penalty.  She finished third beaten a length and three quarters by Magic J a $950,000 purchase and who has an entry in The Dewhurst and half a length by Swindler.  we were delighted with her as she was carrying her 6lb against some big colts.  We do not know yet if we are going to run her again this year or leave her be and give her a holiday.
